Slumdog’ gets 3 critics’ awards in UK

A BBC report said that ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ has won three of the top honours given by UK film critics including best British film.

According to the reports, Danny Boyle was named British director of the year at the London Film Critics’ Circle Awards for the film Simon Beaufoy got the prize for screenwriter of the year. The film has picked up a string of awards and is nominated for 10 Oscar Awards.

The critics named David Fincher director of the year for ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’. Kate Winslet was awarded actress of the year for her roles in ‘The Reader’ and ‘Revolutionary Road.’ Mickey Rourke took the best actor honours for ‘The Wrestler.’
