Move over Kareena and Saif. There is a new couple in town! The latest buzz in the industry is the hook up between Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor. For those who are coming in late, the duo is working together in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Kaminay. While Shahid has been single since the second half of 2007, Chopra split from Harman only last year.
“Priyanka and Shahid got on from day on Vishal’s set. In fact both of them have the same thinking on a lot of topics. Neither believes in talking about their personal lives. They stay away from the media other than at the time of their film’s release. And most of all in this busy world of Bollywood the two get to spend ample time together – not only on the sets but also at home,” says a source.
For many who may not know, Priyanka and Shahid stay in the same building in suburban Mumbai. Often the two were spotted going to work or coming back together. Both Priyanka and Shahid have often been seen together in his Mercedes.
“When they were initially filming in Pune last year for Kaminay, the two were inseparable. They would spend hours together in each other’s vans and cars. In fact they would go on drives together at the end of the day in the city once Vishal called it a day on the sets.”
“Once they returned to Mumbai, the friendship blossomed into love. Priyanka was going through a rough patch with Harman. He wasn’t comfortable with her growing friendship with Shahid but there wasn’t much he could do about it. Priyanka and he had officially split and as Shahid and Priyanka got closer, her visits to Harman’s home reduced. She is still friends with Harman and his family. Also both she and Harman are in Ashutosh Gowarikar’s next,” says the source.
Harman and Priyanka will be seen in Ashutosh Gowarikar’s What’s Your Rashee? next. The duo is currently filming for the movie but choose to keep their own counsel on the sets.
“When they were on the sets of Love Story 2050, they were inseparable. She would come to the sets hours before her call time to help him out. Now it’s all very polite… she is there but once her shot is done, they don’t really spend time together. In fact it’s been ages since she visited his home.”
“Last night Harman’s film Victory had its premiere. He had invited Priyanka for it and with rumours of their fall out doing the rounds, Priyanka didn’t want any controversy to arrive and so she made sure she attended the do. She is quite cross with Harman for going public with their split, but she let it be known to him over a phone call. She doesn’t believe in making things public,” adds the source.
