Are you aware from the present trends of Bollywood? The top two movies of the year 2008 were having the pairs of 40+ heroes and 20+ heroines. Yes I am talking about the pair of Shahrukh Khan and Anushka Sharma in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and the pair of Aamir Khan and Asin Thottumkal in Ghajini.
It is a fact that Shahrukh Khan who has already crossed 43 years of his life is these day’s making films with the female artists who are half in age than him. The same is the situation with the other super star of India; yes I am talking about Aamir Khan. Aamir who has also crossed the 43 years of his life is forced to make pair with the girls like Asin who is only 23 years old.
The response which these two movies get from the public is a clear indication that people like these type of pairs. It is also an indication that Aamir and Shahrukh Khan has the same craze among the people of India and abroad which was there when they were making movies with the heroines like Kajol, Juhi Chawla, Sri Devi etc. All these actresses are either retired now or they have been rejected by the mass these days.
Shahrukh or Aamir were not the only actors who are forced to make pair with so younger girls, while Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan too has crossed the 40+ years and they are still making pair with the girls of 20+ years old. Akshay is coming with Deepika Padukone, while Salman is making the pair with Katrina Kaif in reel life and real life as well.
Even this trend is also showing one mentality of the people in India, and that is they don’t like the female actors after a fixed age. They also don’t like to see the actresses on big screen once they got married too. These factors would not work for the heroes of the Indian film Industry.
On the other hand heroines of these days too like to work with these types of senior actors, because they know that these actors can provide them so much popularity in just one movie which they are not supposed to achieve after making 10 or more movies with the stars of 20+ year old.
